Responsibilities
Since joining Sapphire as CIO in 2005, Martin is responsible for commercial and custom software, networking, security, telephony, as well as supervising the company’s internal customer support service desk. He has managed key IT initiatives including the conversion to a new CRM system, re-architecting the company’s network and system hosting infrastructure, and the development of several custom software applications.
History
Martin has accrued over 30 years of general and IT management experience with a focused concentration in custom application development and managed application hosting. He has held executive management positions at both public and private firms, and has served on advisory boards and councils for Fortune 1000 companies including Navisite, General Electric and IBM. He has been responsible for corporate strategic planning initiatives, and the planning and execution of a variety of new IT developments, upgrades and system conversions. He has participated in the creation of EDI and other e-commerce systems used to facilitate procurement contracts with major manufacturing companies including Kodak, Xerox, Corning Glass, General Motors and Pall Corporation, as well as custom Web-based content management and collaboration solutions for clients including AOL/Time Warner, UPS, and the US State Department.
